Two Cases of Human Sparganosis


Abstract
Sparganum infestation into the human body was reported over 80 cases in Korea.
Human sparganosis is mostly found in subcutaneous or adipose tissue of abdominal, thoracic wall and inguinal region, but is rarely found in the oral cavity, abdominal cavity, brain and breast.
We experienced two cases of human sparganosis during operation.
We removed living lava from the subcutaneous tissue of the thoracic wall and neck. The routes of infection and clinical features of human sparganosis were discussed briefly with related literatures.
